God, Lead The Way

Updated: Dec 5, 2021

If I’ve learned anything in my walk with Christ, it’s that His way is the only way. When I try to do things in my own strength and I don’t pray and seek God first, it never works out for me. (Proverbs16:9)

We have to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ, Who is our firm foundation, our solid rock. So that we will not be moved by the circumstances of life, but only moved by the word of God (Matthew 7:24-29). Just start asking God what He wants you to do, go, say, stay, leave, left or right. I know some will read this and think, what kind of mess is this, that we should ask permission from “God” to do anything. YES!

God in omnipresent, omnipotent and eternal. God created time and He exists outside of time. He knows the beginning from the end. He planned your entire life, but also gave you free will. Why not ask God, who is already there in tomorrow, next week, next month; if and when you should go or stay? He knows and is the only One who does. And we need to be patient in waiting His reply. I waited months praying, asking God was it the right time to make a move. 6 months later, God gave me the ok and it was the best thing I could have ever done. One year from that day, God completely changed a significant part of my life. (Proverbs 20:24)

We also should be praying and asking about, things like, “Lord, is this relationship/friendship for me?” “How do You want me to answer this person in need?” “Is this the right time to go on a mission trip overseas?” Father, is this the right job for me?”

The choices we make can have significant consequences and outcomes. If you’ve prayed about it and God gives you peace in it, glory to God. When we pray about it first, we may avoid unnecessary messes and mistakes. There have certainly been times when we pray and have peace about a situation and it still turns out unexpectedly. Those are the lessons we needed to get us where God is trying to take us. (Psalm 37:23-24)

We certainly have free will to do as we please, but isn’t it better to ask the One who knows the beginning from the end, the One who can never be surprised, the One who holds you in the balance, the One who will never leave you or forsake you. Isn’t better to walk the path less traveled while wrapped in His continued presence and love. Let’s allow God to lead us daily in the way everlasting.
